Welcome to HHP Fishing Club!

The Hilton Head Plantation was organized back in 1987 by Doctor Art Schultz, our first President. A lot has happened since a small group of anglers got together to discus  fishing at sessions they called “Fish Tales”. These informal sessions grew into more formal dinner meetings and the subjects discussed became much more than just fishing. We became a Club that is also concerned about conserving our marine environment for the future.

Whether you are a serious angler with all the skills and know-how  or a novice seeking to learn why fishing is such a popular activity, the Club is the place for you. Our monthly dinner meetings are a great place to meet other residents, learn about our great natural environment, and listen to speakers on a wide variety of subjects covering the low country, Hilton Head Island, and the Port Royal Sound area.

The Club organizes fishing trips for off-shore, near-shore and in-shore fishing with local charter captains. We also promote the sport of fishing through one-on-one teaching. We work with the POA to maintain the health of the Plantation Lagoon System through stocking of fish for weed control and for game fish species for a no-cost recreational activity.

Our annual (in September) Low Country Boil is an event not to be missed!

The Club also presents an opportunity to help the Plantation and its resident youngsters every summer when we volunteer to teach them all about fishing during Kids Kamp. These twice a week sessions during ten weeks each summer have proven to be the plantation children’s most popular part of their summer camp activity.
